Privacy Policy

Point is a free web app by Ledakan Digital Marketing. This policy explains honestly what happens to your data, and it is written to match how the app actually works.

1. What stays on your phone

The following is stored in your device storage (localStorage & IndexedDB). It is never uploaded to our servers — we cannot see it:

2. GPS location

Point asks for location permission for features such as Nearby Places, Find My Car (parking pin & Forest Trail), Qibla Direction, compass, Point GO (plan start point) and SOS Share Location.

The only time your location leaves the device is when you yourself press “Share Location” in the Emergency menu. At that point it is placed into a WhatsApp or SMS message and sent to the recipient you chose — not to us.

You may refuse location permission. Other features keep working normally; only location-based features will be limited.

3. Usage statistics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which features are useful, so we know what to improve.

Google Analytics may use anonymous identifiers and your IP address. Please refer to the Google Privacy Policy. If you use an ad or analytics blocker, Point still works normally.

4. Third-party services

To function, Point loads data from external services. When your browser contacts them, they can see your IP address (normal for any website):

When you press Call, WhatsApp, Directions, Instagram, Facebook or TikTok, you are taken out to that app or site — their privacy policy applies there.

5. Awang AI assistant

Point has an Ask Awang AI (Beta) feature — an optional chatbot that answers Terengganu travel questions. When you type a question and send it, the following happens:

• The text of your question (and up to the last 4 messages in that conversation only) is sent to our server, then to OpenAI (the AI technology provider) to generate an answer.
• We also send a few relevant short records (place name, type, distance) so Awang can answer accurately — not your personal data. These records come from Point's own data, public Discovery Terengganu articles, and public articles from the CEO Sekmung portal (a third-party Terengganu portal) — collected in advance, not pulled in real time while you ask.
• Your GPS coordinates are NEVER sent — as with every other feature in Point, only distance as text (e.g. "3.2 km") is included, calculated on your phone.
• Every request sets store:false — OpenAI does not retain your conversation to train their models.
• This feature is entirely optional — Awang is only active when you open it and type a question yourself. No account or login is required.
• We also keep a short log of the question text (not who asked) on our own server, to understand what users are looking for so we can improve Point's data & features. These logs contain no name, email, IP or any personal identifier.
• To estimate the asker's state (aggregate statistics only), we use your GPS location (if permission is granted) to classify it to the nearest state on your phone — only the state name is sent, never the actual coordinates. If location permission is unavailable, we attempt a rough estimate from your IP address (sent once to ip-api.com purely to resolve it — the IP itself is not stored). This estimate is not always accurate.

📖 Terengganu Dialect Dictionary & Ganu word list

The dictionary and the Ganu word list are files inside Point itself — downloaded once with the app and kept in your device cache. They are not an online database.

• When you ask "apa maksud cakne?", the answer comes straight from your phone — no server request, no AI cost, and it works even with no internet.
• The same applies to the main search bar and the A-Z list in the Dictionary modal — everything is looked up on the device.
• When you type a question in Ganu dialect (e.g. "nok makan sedak kat mane"), Point translates those dialect words into standard Malay on your phone so the search finds the right records. This adds no data transmission — if the question does eventually need AI, what gets sent still follows the rules above.
• The dialect words you type are not collected separately and are not used to identify you. They are not personal data.
• Content sources: the book Kosakata Dialek Terengganu by Sharif Putera (shown for education & language preservation; copyright remains with the original author), plus Discovery Terengganu's own Ganu word list. Point does not invent dialect meanings — if a word is not on the list, Point says so honestly and refers you to the full dictionary on the Discovery Terengganu site.
• Meanings & example sentences stay in Malay even when you switch Point's interface to English — so dialect meaning is not distorted by translation.

6. Cookies

Point uses no advertising cookies and does not sell data to anyone. Google Analytics may set measurement cookies. The local storage we use is for saving your settings, not for tracking you across other sites.

7. Children

Point is a general map & travel app. It is not directed specifically at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

8. Your controls

• Location — can be refused or withdrawn at any time through browser or phone settings.
• Delete all data — clear storage (clear data/storage) for point.my, or uninstall the app. Everything in Section 1 is deleted with it.
• Medical ID — can be cleared at any time from inside the app.
• Parking pin — deleted automatically after 5 days, or when you press “Found It”.
• Forest Trail — deleted when you press “I'm Out” or “End Trail”. Abandoned trails are auto-deleted after 5 days of inactivity.
• Awang AI questions — you control what is sent: the feature is optional, and only questions you type yourself are sent. Don't use Awang = nothing is sent.

9. Security

Point is served over HTTPS. Because your personal information never leaves the device, there is no user database of ours that could be breached. That said, anyone who can unlock your phone can see the data inside the app — so keep your phone locked.

10. Changes to this policy

If we add a feature that changes how data is handled, we will update this page and the date above.
